To clarify, I only get these errors right ofter a "loading" period and the exact error says "'models/scientist.mdl' has no head turning ability"

Also, if you feel like it, I found two errors involving the can.  The first says that I need to add "$model 1" to the can and canchrome vmt's.  However when I do this it shows the wire mesh ingame.  The second is when using the vending machine and a pop can falls, there is no sound.  I get the error: failed to load "physics/metal/metal_popcan_impact_hard2.wav".  Hopefully that is a simple attachment in the qc issue.

*Curses at the coke can on his desk*

I'll add that one to the list of bugs ill look at tonight Smiley

EDIT:- Had a look at the "'models/scientist.mdl' has no head turning ability" and it appears to happen in Version1 of the mod as well. I'm not too sure on how we can approach this bug Sad Can anybody offer any theorys or ideas on why this would happen? I haven't had to much time to do anymore bug testing due to my g/f's sister being up with her daughter. I'll have a more in-depth look sometime soon. Could i also have someone check and confirm that this issue appears in version1 as well Smiley

EDIT2:- As for the soda can... i couldn't find a reference to any audio in it's original HL Source QC. We mave have to extract the audio file into the necessary folder and see if this works.

EDIT3:- Lastly... Bug testing for the beta will continue despite the leakage of it. See http://www.hl-improvement.com/forums/index.php?topic=2447.0 for details. Lets not discuss that here though as I will moderate those sorta posts Smiley

Cheers flynia

I've just downloaded the Version 1 stuff, and I came across a number of bugs.  A quick check through this forum helped me fix most of them, how ever I couldn't figure out what was happening with the crossbow.  I tried the crossbow fix but my crossbow file was already correct.  This doesn't happen with any of my other weapons (as far as I know).  I don't know if this bug has aleady been addressed (I skim through the forum but no luck) if it has, sorry for the redundency

That happened to me on my old Geforce MX440, it seems that the crossbow likes to draw infinitely long lines to the far reaches of nothingness.

I think it is fixed in the v2 beta.  I could be wrong though, as I sold my MX440 for $20.

That is the only other occurance of that problem that I know of.

If the fix listed for the crossbow did not work for you, then PM me an email I can reach you at and I will send you the crossbow I have.  Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Thanks for lettings us know.

Added a rant about "Bug Team" being on break.

Added a emergency MSN Contact email for myself.

I'll let the team speak for themselves about any extra work they wanna do on bugs during the break. Please understand that the team is now on break so respect the "Holiday Season" and that it may take a few days/weeks for a answer.

Are you kidding?  Better late then never.  Grin

I personally have not encountered the "machine gun" shotty or 9mm, so I cannot say if it relates to our pack or a glitch from the conversion of HL to Source.  If it is with our models I imagine it has already been addressed and there fore would not be present in v.2.  Time will tell.

In the meantime if we come up with anything we will post our findings and any fixes here.  Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I've just seen the shotgun animation bug myself. I was playing around with a few CZ DS models and saw it. I guess I never saw it before as the hgrunts shotgun firing and mp5 firing are the same animation.

I know why its doing it. I forgot to change the event names on the QC of the Hgrunt in that version.

After some extensive digging, I think this should be of help:

http://files.filefront.com/scientistrar/;11623694;/fileinfo.html

Extract the .rar file to your "C:\xxx\Steam\SteamApps\<username>\half-life source\hl1\materials\models\" directory.  If you do not have such a directory, create it (if you've never installed add-ons to HL:S, then the "materials/models" folders will not be there).

All relevent links updated.
