Athlon XP? If you have a 6800 or X800 I think your processor would be bottlenecking it.

That would depend what you call a good computer. I think BF2's recommended specifications are = 2.4Ghz or Higher, 1Gb RAM, and a 256mb Video Card. (Also known as the X800 or 6800 series)

I run it smoothly on low setting with my 1.4GHz R9600pro 128mb 512rdram.. I know it's not great to play it like that, but at least I can play it smoothly.
I think the specs you gave are for the High setting, with all the eye candy and cool specials effects (which I want so much!!) Smiley

Some people can't run High with 1gb of RAM. Talk about demanding.

It's not that 1gb RAM is not enough, it's just that their computers are bottlenecked. Alot of people that don't know much about computers (you know, the typical Alienware fanboys) think that buying a 7800GTX or X800 would by the first priority, but the thing is that the upgrades you're going to buy should be balanced out. If you're upgrading to a high end video card, you'll also need a high-end processor to support it to prevent bottlenecking.

Personally, I've got a gig of RAM and a 6600 GT, and I can run it fine with everything on medium. I could probably go higher but my processor's bottlenecking the thing.

Indeed, I run 2 x 6600GT's in SLi mode, 1GB of rather fast ram and a 3200 64bit OC'd to 3500 speeds (it was at 4000 speeds, but i didnt need the excess  Undecided ) and I run it at medium not because my pc cant handle it, but because its the smoothest and its less demanding on the system.  Ok so the graphics suffer a wee bit but at least I get playability.  I can run it on High but I'd rather not ya know?

ps. what was this topic about again  Grin

Sorry to stay off topic but what cooling did you use to o/c your 3200 to 4000? And what clock settings did you use etc..?
I'm running air cooling which keeps my A64 3200 s939 at around 31C at idle with all my fans on low and with the case side on or off (Doesnt make a differnce if it's on or not.. the case is well ventalated).. Anyway.. What settings do you think I would be able to run mine at?
