Indeed, a sequel to the Uberpoly Tri-layer patented technology chromasheen effect crowbar. Based off of the late crowbar by Quad.

This has base texture, speckle, and a slight chrome gradient to reflect some light. The entire crowbar is 1672 polygons due to the triple layer on all included crowbar models. I don't spare polygons when it comes to P and W. They should be the same quality as the V. The hand options are HD, LD, and TFC. This item released under the Glorious People's License (GPL) by the community of Half-Life Improvement. Please inform me of any errors/glitches/etc.

Optional Half-Breed texture of Quad's skin and the rusty skin: (import onto model and save)

I used your rusty skin as filter for Quad´s crowbar.

Ont:
It's ok, I shall defeat that crowbar once and for all. I have a large rusty one sitting right beside me at the moment for reference.

Failure...

You should see the crowbar which I referenced it from. It's a rusty POS, but it's what you would expect in a facility such as Black Mesa.

It was in fact a success. It does look near the reference object. This crowbar would fit in perfectly with the industrial sections of Half-Life, you know. It's not logical for Gordon to go diving in sewage and come out with a mint condition crowbar as presented by Quad! Cheesy

I wish I could use bumpmapping. Below is a picture of the rusted crowbar while it was soaking wet from rain.
The water makes it look blacker, but it is in fact a dim red when dry.

Some people might not be convinced that this is a good crowbar. I think this is a good alternative crowbar for people who like this kind of crowbar.

I guess Quad's Crowbar might beat every Crowbar that will be released in the near future, unless someone beats Quad's  Tongue

Looks great. The best skin (IMO) would be a half-way between this (old and rusty) and Quad's skin.
His tooks too "new", the amount of wear that is on his shows it maybe was used 10 times at the most. Since this is shared in DM maps, it should have a older look to it as the map implies that it has been used alot of times before and was dropped by a killed player.

This makes it look like it came from the 30's and somehow survived Tongue

So having this rust while still keeping a fair amount of paint on the crowbar implies it is somewhat new (few years) and has been used a fair amount of times.

I am going to experiment with merging the uber-new and uber-wear skins. If only to see if it would look good.

It's like dog breeding...but with crowbars. Grin

Edit: It's a mutt! A beautiful gray cross-breed! Feel free to use this mix of old and new. It looks beautiful, even though if not entirely realistic. I am going to add it in to the first post for the heck of it.

Im confused, why did you duplicate the model to give it a skin with a few dots on it? Surely it would make more sense to add the dots onto the original skin rather than increasing the polycount

Light catching, my friend.

But honestly, I originally added it to a low detail crowbar skin. I increased the texture much more for the specks to appear crisp, to give the illusion of higher detail. There may not be a ton of need for this, but it's not like it hurts. Only a few hundred polies. You'll never see a hundred crowbars in your gaming career (I hope).

Did a blend of the 2 skins.

As for the dots matt, they are additive so they will "glow" in brighter areas. I do agree not exactly the best effect to have since the end result with it isn't worth an extra 600 or so polygons.
