Title: Updates to be released soon!
Post by: James on March 09, 2006, 07:43:50 PM
We're releasing some updates for RE:CB soon. The updates address the following issues -

- The MP5 and M4 now use their W Models when dropped
- Players CAN respawn, so long as they collect Ink Ribbons. Maximum of 3 Ink Ribbons per player, 1 Ink Ribbon per respawn
- Added the RE:CB commands to the Main Menu Keyboard Options
- Players now say "Follow Me!" in the AdLib system : It was not working before
- Added a vague inventory type system
- Added the options to turn off lag-inducing features easily
- New healing system. Picking up a healing item adds it to your inventory for future use. You can then use the herbs or first aid spray when you like
- Added ability to use Red and Green herbs mixed together
- RECB_Subway will be VASTLY extended
- You can now select weapons through the inventory if you like =P

In other news, we would like to remind the community that the RE:CB .fgd file is available for download from the ModDB page at

www.mods.moddb.com/5471

So get mapping guys! =P

Sounds pretty cool..Really looking forward to it.  :)

Are you guys going to add lickers(those monster things in the Resident Evil games) in the future? As I feel that there are not enough monsters in the game currently...

Hey are you gonna use my Adlib symbols?

That'd be kind of cool  :)

You guys should make the zombies more bloodier...cause now they dont look scary.....

How about also making zombies that have legs still crawl at you?

Maybe you should slow down the movement speed cause its really too fast...

Once the path to the security room (and the room itself) are finished, it's time to add all the triggers for the puzzles, zombie spawns, guns, and scumlines will be ready to go.  ;D

Thats cool.  :) Hope your map is a long one with objectives and storyline....

Post by: Shoot_me on March 10, 2006, 08:21:10 AM
It might not be as long as my BB maps, but it'll be a fairly large map.  I'm still working on the objectives (design phase), trying to make sure that they make sense, aren't too boring, and aren't going to be too easy or difficult.

That being said, the grey area shows the part of scumlines that was released a while back, the back area (well lines...) shows what I've been adding to it since then.

edit: I don't think anyone noticed the shadows that I got the rails to cast... and that's a 2d texture on a func_wall brush. =p

Wow. I cant wait to play your map!

So...How soon can we expect the updates? Im not asking you to rush it...just wanna know when..

Have you fixed the sv_lan 1 problem? Its making people not be able to create servers because they dont know about it...

Isolation is going through the painful stage of finding a leak >_< so that might be a awhile and I have begun work on my newest map Recb_Deepwater. The screen shot is alot older now that Ive added more stuff but this is the general look of what the front of the boat will look like.

Damn it, it's not a problem! It's the same for ANY mod!

But then, in other mods like svencoop when u host its already set on sv_lan 0 ....I guess u have to create some listenserver.cfg but i dont know...

Anyway, if it is not a problem then nevermind...

Maybe you should slow down the movement speed cause its really too fast...

Well considering they lack the surplus weight of their legs, they can crawl much faster.  Plus its the added OSHITITSHUMPINGMYLEG effect that wins.

I think he mean't movement speed of the player, not the zombie.

It has a nice little part of the spine to use when raping!

I thought Minuit said he had toned down the movement speed allready!

Yeah, movement speed of the player...

What's wrong about movement speed? I think it's ok.

I think it could be slowed down a bit. Maybe 5-10% slower.

It could be slowed down, more to RE speed, than HL i think.

but if you slow down the player to RE speed you will have a hard time getting away from Hunters....
err well that's actually a good thing.... :D

Actually its ok, cause dogs are faster than human, but if we want it re-like, you should slow them down as well.

Learn to aim by getting the zombie in the dead centre of the screen. I can headshot them easily like that.

Or nub-center the model using HLMV. Or use the flashlight. ;)

- RECB_Streets has been extended and is now a lot harder (NOT recommended for lower spec machines)
- Players now physically pick up items
- Desert Eagle and Custom Desert Eagle eject shells
- Thirdperson is enabled
- Camera will not go through walls in third person
- Added a 1.5 second delay between each allowed AdLib command to prevent spamming
- Fixed the Custom Desert Eagle using the world model for its player model
- Added a 1.5 second delay between each allowed weapon drop to prevent AdLib Item voice spamming.
- Added icons above a player to visually represent a player's AdLib command.
- Added a slight roll effect when you strafe >_> (I was bored and copied Mazor's tutorial)

Erm, they do in my version. Can't remember if that's been added since the release or not. Either way, they do now so it will definitely come with the update. PS: Are you sure they don't share ammo, and can anyone else verify this?

They don't in the pre-release beta that I'm running on.

Now I can how you partially prevented the addition of crosshairs to weapons.  Some of the weapons don't even have their own sprite txt files (this file tells the game what sprite file to look for and the coordinates of the part of the sprite in question).  However, no one's gonna stop me from using the same M4 sprite that I'm using in CS and the M4 crosshair sprite from Firearms.

Good luck. They were removed in the code, not by just deleting the sprite files.

this mod has a buttload of potential to be fun as hell, while keeping true to the resident evil feeling.. i just feel there should be a lot more replayability >_< but besides that i can't wait for the menu and being able to store items

Isnt that too similar to darkwoods map? Besides, making a good looking outdoor/nature map is extremely hard work. So for now, its better idea to let them just finish maps, that they makeing now.

I'll give you a big "shut the fuck up". If you really cared, you would be noticing that updates have been posted. Besides, if you're so concerned, why not help out? Oh that's right. You're a lazy fuck who thinks he has more rights as a player than a modder.

We owe you nothing.
