IT LIVES AGAIN
After two weeks working on and off, I have completed this pet project.

What HIT Model Depot is, it's a website that contains a wack of releases from this community and a few from abroad for Half-Life. For those that can remember AOW or Half-Replaced thats what my website here is, but for the time being just for Half-Life. The website contains at this time ~66 models to download from. I use FileFront to host my downloads for fast, and realiable downloads. I didn't upload everything on these boards yet, simply because its going to take time, if you have a request for a file to be uploaded, email me, or put it here with a link towards the thread, or if its not on the forums, a pic and a download link with intact credits.

For those who want new content to be hosted, I offer a little Licence for you to have the choice of using. It's called the Anti-FPSB agreement. While its no where near full proof, its an agreement that the reader has to read before downloading your content that states you don't want to see it on FPBS. Sadly it only works for the honest people, but its better than nothing at all.

I hope you, the community member find this to be a useful resource and support its existance. If there is anyone who wants to contribute to the site, like uploading files or content, gimmie a holler. I also plan on adding a few tutorials for the newbies and learning alike.

Thanks for being a community that I am willing to do this for, the last time I made a content site was for Day of Defeat ages ago. Also, I'd love to build more community among those of us that are here, so If you have a website I will be making a button for this depot for a link exchange and I will show your button on the main page. HIT and AI's website will be on the main page shortly if all goes well.

PS: Perhaps a mod could sticky this?

We are getting back up and running again JAN 28/07

Awesome, it's finally public. Well, it's looking good Editor, and it's a great idea to put all this stuff in one location. It's a tad difficult to root through the forums sometimes.

Also, if you need any php help, etc. you know who to call. And no, not Ghostbusters.

Why? It's really easy to navigate through the pages - I have no problem with it.

Uh, there are many typo's at the moment.

Changes:
Stone's Guass -> Stone's Gauss (Picture doesn't work)
Romka's M4 -> Romka's M16 (he also made an enhanced M4)
all Names of H4wK to fit one style
Gluon -> Egon

Oh well, I fixed most of them just now. As for the Gluon/Egon, same thing :P and the name of H4wk fitting one style, did I spell it hawk somewhere? If its just the difference betweeen H and h, then I'm not worried

The link to Renard's RPG says v3 but it leads to v2.

Very nice site, though, very easy to navigate.

Hey Editor321, can you upload my LD-Style Garg? It hasn't been advertised anywhere outside Too Much Time Thread, but it's the one I'm most happy with how it turned out:

the other screenshot for the gun was oversized and ugly, so I used that picture with all the different skin variations, assuming they were in the rar.

Sorry about that. ;]

you know what they say when you assume, it makes an ass out of u and me

With regards to the colour of the background being white for FireFox users and some other browsers, I guess it has to do with how your browser interprets Style.css files which contain the background colour information.

So if anybody knows of a fix for this, please let me know. In the meantime, I hope you still enjoy your stay nevertheless.

I thank the community for your support, I have gotten PM's of files I missed or content that people wanted to see, please keep this up. Its a site for you guys :)

There's a good reason for that.

See, a friend of mine owns Xenoverse, and he can't pay for the site anymore. Domain's been suspended. All of Editor321's work is gone. Glorious. It happened quite suddenly - we weren't even aware of it until he got a letter. Too many things going on at once.

Alas, the site is down now and will probably be down for the rest of ever. I'm hoping Editor321 had this thing saved on his PC, because we can't access anything. I'm also hoping we can find another host. D=

Hmm, when you create a site, aren't the files saved onto the hard drive? And then you upload the file onto the web server?

Obviously. Moreover, I was hoping he made a backup of the SQL database, not the site.

Why not give him a donation, so you can get your stuff?
Title: Re: HIT Model Depot
Post by: Editor321 on December 15, 2006, 02:57:42 PM
I did not forsee this happening at all....

The SQL Database was never backed up. While I still have the site files and template files, I will have to re-enter all the files into the database again. I won't have to re-upload them SO I WILL DO IT. However, I need the webspace to do it. I ask if anybody in the community can give me a webspace that has MYSQL and PHP to give me a hand so I can get back on my feet.

I'm not beaten yet, but will need a lift up.

Is there anybody up for this?

I could get my own server for ~$10 a month CDN funds.

If we as a community decide to go the donation route, I can give those who donated subdomains for personal use/model showcasing. This is just a thought that I'm throwing out there. I would do my best to make it worth your while.

Thats one option, if no one has any webspace.

Well I've got about 2Gb of space and plenty of bandwidth of HostileZone.net, so as long as Cappie doesn't mind - PM me with an FTP username and password (and what subdomain you want).

(It's the same server as HIT is hosted on.)

The majority of the content is back up on the Model Depot. Sadly, it only accounts for 2 pages and a bit. We need more! So if you have anything you think is worthy of putting up on the Model Depot, please post here with a link to some model you've released and we'll see about it.

Enjoy and hopefully we can stop some bumping of thread by the new guys.

Nice, but.. it needs some sniper rifles, like possibly Toadie's Barrett or M40A3?

If any of the members of this community want to help me keep it updated and upload content on their spare time, send me a PM and I will set you up with a login. It's really easy to add files. Hydeph is my main man, but he has been keeping busy.

If we keep it current and up to date, we will keep some old and new treasures for years to come.

Another massive update! Lots of files being added as I type. This will include mirrors to Liquidators packs and a new to DiamonD's Latest "Final Pack".
I could still use help with the running of the site, so if you are interested, give me a PM.

Enjoy!

Halfleven, paste them in your half-life/valve/models directory. If that directory doesn't exist, then you can just make it manually.

Hello everybody, and welcome back to the H.I.T Model Depot. This site will serve as a database consisting of mainly Half-Life replacement models. As time expands, perhaps we will add more models for other expansion packs and mods, but as it stands this is mostly for Half-Life.

Bear with us as we begin to upload files and get the site started. It will take some time and effort to get an extensive database of files present, so be patient and you will have many to choose from. If you would like to suggest a feature or file for the site, or leave a comment, or to ask a question, you can either post in this thread.

Who the hell might you be?
