Addiction is serious. Get help.

I wonder what will come first, HL:E or Black Mesa's Xen.

This place is forever tied to a stressful memory of getting caught browsing it at school when I shouldn't have been.

After reading my previous posts... I want to kill myself...

It's self explanatory.

You poor thing, born a few years too late to have your youth absolved by advances in technology. All the dumb stuff I posted last decade has since been wiped out in database crashes. But this particular forum will exist well beyond our lifespans.

Admittedly, though, holster-animations are an option which should have been provided.

Sure, I mean I have A.I on Steam, but I don't want to message him for fear of looking like a fanboy.

I am okay with this.

I smell an impending HL:E release date announcement.

^ Well, speak of the devil!!!

I'm always thinking of new ideas and concepts, taking reference photos with my phone of anything that looks at home in a decommissioned missile base, and more.
That's fantastic!!!

And I feel similarly. There's something about modern games that... isn't breaking any ground, despite how radical they may be compared to their contemporaries.

...but the bad news is that we'll need to start the forums from scratch, with new user accounts.
...Whoah. All the past posts, customization downloads, all that absent from what you'd plan anew?

If everything is erased, I guess that's like starting a new community. And new communities are hard to start without a lot of time and attention, the kinds of attention that your hectic life hasn't quiiite permitted. I hate to suggest something like this, but maybe coupling up with another, broader, forum would be good. Old HIT profited much by having lively user customizations in parallel to an ongoing improvement project, users able to easily bounce back and forth.

I've watched a rather new community develop, one which actually started from Team Fortress Classic and is now branching out. It seems strangely related to what you have here, though having nothing explicitly in common. As a thought-exercise, somehow combining the projects here with the stuff there... I don't know, I can't rule it out as a healthy concept.

Also, submarines are zeppelins of a denser atmosphere. Pretty cool huh.

Minor Updates / Re: I'm not dead, honestly!

So, yeah.

Have you been stalking me and reading my posts elsewhere?

I have some more history on a forum which specializes in Half-Life and Source-engine customizations (hl-improvement), but it has been rather quiet there since 2008.

And so soon after, you make a post proclaiming your vitality and brave plans for the future!?! :P

Anyway, glad to hear it! Take your time making that dough, because I doubt efforts here will be able pay off as much IRL. (Also, I don't think the forums need much of an overhaul. They work, don't they?)

Oh that About page looks beautiful (even if it has more links than the wikipedia article on chain mail), and I think now is time for me to switch to that perfected Half-Life menu.
But the best part is, every time you quote that song, it sends the same subtle message of continued metabolism!

Was it ever really alive.

(I know it was a spot of fun back in the day, but I never understood users who made a lifestyle of it.)

KylerAdams's OP4 crosshair-scanline critique is meritable for better visibility, but they need to be scanlined to fit with the rest of the HUD. Might I suggest filling in the crosshair gaps with a half-opacity green relative to the existing lines? Or, the existing lines could themselves be solely brightened for better contrast.

Everything else is worthy of grandeur. If I had to criticize something there, I would say I've seen medpacks made like that for a long time now, and I wish there were a way to have those side edges be better softened with the bevelled top. And another aspect, those dull white sides become bothersome, and a seam may be added (excused as either a method of accessing additional medical supplies, or at least as an indicator these things aren't seamlessly manufactured by Apple).

We all share your patient, loving mindset :D
