Ok I tried a bit around and...it is not working like I thought it would be  ;D

It would work if you only are on your own server but players that join would get their own jerky jump animations...so it probably would have been done like you said but I have no idea about these things I just made simple hacks with some models.

So I would wait for someone who knows exacty what to do sorry.  ;)

Using the old jumping animation is just a simple hack, but you would have to convert every single player model you have.  ;)

Finally someone who knows how to use detail textures the right way  ;D

But I think its not good when your map textures are all 512x512. Halflife can support them but if too many of them are in a map you can get problems and high compile times.

Rather make the normal textures half the size, with detail textures on them it will still look very good.  ;)

So, the last few days I was busy playing Mass Effect 1 and "Masterfully Staged Game" is the only thing I can say about it.

Ofcourse you have to like scifi and all that stuff and you need time to understand the story and the characters but the action side of the game alone is just really good implemented and the story is suspenseful till the end because you never know what happens next or what you have to decide.

At first I had a few problems like crashes and graphic errors but after I updated my graphic card drivers it worked 100% without crashes or errors.

Also the team members you have to take with you are not as annoying as I thought they would be. Actually I began to like Wrex and Tali as my teammembers and they have conversations among themselves which is kinda cool.  ;)

The only negative site in the game I saw was the Inventory system..it is a bit confusing at first but you get used to it if you play a while. But it will always be inconvenient and unclear. I mean if you are in a shop or something. Everything you have is in one list, one category and you will have a LOT of stuff in the game so you have to search everything manually. But its not that of a big deal.

For me, Mass Effect is definately the best action RPG I played since Deus Ex 1.  8)

Yeah it looks more like Mercenaries 2 or something. Looks like another good game series goes down the drain. Maybe the game will be good but I see no sense in buying this game if you want another Max Payne game.

Game Companies dont seem to realise what a game series is.

I mean if I play a game of a series I expect the sequels to be like the prequels...more of the same. Just new features added in or something. Not a totally different setting or whatever.

I would rather have the choice to not take anyone with me at all but..maybe I'll give it a try. I saw a very cheap version of Mass Effect at amazon so probably I'm gonna check it out ^^

Okay let's see...

1.Crusader series (nonstop action from a different perspective) I think that fits it perfectly and I love action  :P
2.Deus Ex 1, The characters, the story, the gameplay. It is definately one of the best games ever
3.Unreal, Being stranded on a beautiful alien planet with vicious aliens has never been a better trip, and coop FTW.  ;D
4.Halflife, ofcourse nothing more to add here, if you like shooters you like halflife.
5.Splinter Cell, I like it...I like the game, I like sam fisher and his humor and yeah its overall a pretty fun game  :)

I think they belong to my top 5 yeah.

Probably there is just some kind of .cfg file messed up and your game does not use the info_player_start entitys. Instead it spawns you in the middle of the whole mapgrid.

Don't know which cfg that could be though.  :-\

Carrying weapons over to other maps would be very good, but I think it is impossible to code in a HL mod. The quake engine games with coop always had this feature just like unreal games, but I never saw any HL related coop mod that actually has it implemented so yeah don't know.
