Moving shell.mdl animation?
« on: October 17, 2009, 06:06:27 PM »

I was looking around movies when I came across this website offering free stock footage.
http://www.footagecrate.com/3D/PREMULTIPLIED.html
Take a look at the bottom to the spinning shotgun shell, notice how from a fixed camera the shell moves and spins; if this was applied with chroma keying someone could fake shells.

What I'm asking is this, if I wanted to make animations of a shell moving so I could later record it from HLMV, what program would I need?

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

You could do it with FRAPS pretty easily.

Hmm, I've recorded models (the icky) using Fraps before. The only downside is if I'm recording and moving the camera the model stops moving (no animation), and of course my ability to move my mouse in a nice curve isn't the best.
I think I should ask a better question. What program makes animations for HL1?

Milkshape 3D, as far as I know, you can move the camera and it'll still animate in that.
