True. I'm not going to move to Source engine. Half-Life 1 is my fav game. I could probably move if someone would port all weapons from hl1 to hl2.But still gameplay is very different.
I'm still learning animating. My main goal is to make replacement animations for all character with better ones and add new.

I thought about that. It has everything that source engine has.But there are thing that hold me with hl1 is there is NO SDK and NO SOURCE CODE. And multiplayer is dead. And menu sucks. (i play WON version)
So many reasons.
P.S. I'll buy it if i find boxed version. I don't like that steam crap. It's just me....

Welp you're boned.

HL:S, like all Valve/Sauce games, require Steam to be played, without pirating the game and cracking it.

What the hell is wrong with Steam, anyways? It's like Xfire, but better because all the games are smoothly integrated, allowing you to browse game servers out-of-game, browse the internet and chat while ingame and buy games from your desk without even getting up.

It's the future, man. D:

Custom stuff in HL:S has a reputatuion of having strange errors, odd problems ans glitches you wouldn't find in GoldSrc. The models, etc are more complex, more difficult to replace, there are issues with chrome, the random crashes get annoying.
Stick with GoldSrc for now unless you want to learn a brand new engine.

It's laggy. I love the idea. Big respesct to inventor of steam. But I personaly don't like it. I know that  in computers ewerything is virtual but still I want a f*cking orange box with damn orange lambda on it.
And why to crack a game when you just can crack whole steam? xD
I know that is is a future and future f**king sucks.

Yeah, being able to access my game on any computer, without carrying a disc around with me sucks. Automatic updates, playing games without hunting for a lost disc, great sales, and having a centralised place to find my games also completely suck.

No offence, but if it is lagging, then it is your computer at fault, not Steam. Steam runs perfectly for most people. Steam is a great application, a

It has its kinks but they are fewer and farther between than they once were. Steam is pretty light on the system load also, you should be fine

Steam has a backup function where by you can back up your games to disc. It's physical, you can hold it in your hands and it installs just like a normal game. Find a decent HL:S cover and Disc Illustration on the net, and your set to go. Of course you'll still need to activate your game online with Steam, but that only takes a few seconds. I hated Steam when it first came out, it was a buggy as hell, and didn't work half the time. And I thought it sucked that you had to have an internet connection to play Steam games. But in this day and age, almost everyone has an internet connection and Steam is a very different platform to what it used to be.

The good thing about Steam is that your own personnel copy of a game will always be available to you no matter what. If you have the only version of your game on Disc though, it's kind of risky, because it could be lost or stolen, scratched or even permanently damaged.

Thank's. Well i don't think so. There is no reason to hurry. I'll make more tests and see how good I can make them.
