How to replace textures or make .WADS using Wally?

Hello again.
I am working on a little mod and I'm trying to replace the med dispenser in halflife.wad. Right now I'm using Wally 1.55B.
I have two questions.

1. How do you replace textures inside a .WAD? If not...

2. How do you make .WADs using Wally? I managed to extract all of halflife.wad's textures but I don't know where to go from there.

I managed to extract all of halflife.wad's textures but I don't know where to go from there.

I don't think you're supposed to do that.

To add an image, as far as I know, all you do is go to package -> add images.
Then you type in where the file is for the source directory.
For ouput it's "Open Package".
For image wildcard you put what type of image file it is.
If you want to replace an existing file, you click on Wally Settings and check in General Properties "Overwrite existing Files"
And you press go, and pretty much that's it.

Though, because you're replacing the health charger I think that you have to replace it twice, since theres one texture with I think a plus sign in the name for when the charger is active and one with a minus sign for when it's empty.

Brotip: If you're replacing it with a higher resolution texture, the end result may not be what you expected, or it may even go unchanged in some maps.

I think I messed up with the health charger, which infact is + and -, although I see the default charger.
Another unrelated question, would anyone happen to know the name of the Black Mesa logo behind barney sitting in the chair? I need some noticable texture to see if I'm doing it right.

I had this idea once, but it turns out most of vanilla HL maps use "-wadinclude" so the textures are in the maps and rarely have to refer back to the WAD.

Good idea though.

Wha.
That changes everything. I thought I was doing something wrong since was able to change the texture of tempdecal but nothing else worked. After reading your post I took halflife.wad out of valve and it worked on the one map I tried.
Also yes, Kev, this is software mode. I'm on my A/V computer and it's not good at games, so I only use it to test. My substitute computer to my right gets a maximum of 40 fps 640 x 480 x 32 though.

This makes a new question. How do you change the textures in the vanilla maps that have this -wadinclude?

might need to extract the maps and take it off or something.
