Am I the only one missing this feature?
« on: June 08, 2005, 07:28:10 PM »

Quote from: Steam News of May 13th, 2005
When a map is loaded, an associated .cfg file is automatically evaluated. This cfg file must be located in the cstrike/maps/cfg folder and be named <mapname>.cfg. For instance, the file cstrike/maps/cfg/de_dust.cfg will be evaluated when the map de_dust is loaded. This is useful for per-map rules, bot rosters, etc.

I can't find any evidence of these config files anywhere on my harddrive or in the GCF's. Am I the only one without them or are any of you missing them too?

I tried running the game windowed and starting a map, keeping an eye out for a maps/cfg folder, but nothing appeared

It might be server side only.  Try starting a dedicated server or something.

I've tried adding my own, it doesn't pick them up.

Maybe Valve made a mistake in their upload, and haven't noticed.
