Making an Otis based off of an SD Barney
« on: May 17, 2010, 10:44:38 PM »

Is there a way to import UV maps onto an existing mesh, notably the UVs from this Barney onto the Opposing Force: Redux Barney... I want my Otis to match my Barney, in other words! I figured if I could import the UVs somehow, which seems unlikely, I could easily have a sexy Otis to match the Barney...

If I'm way off base, how does one make the Otis match the Barney? As far as the gray, hi-res skin goes... the texture maps are completely different than Werewolf's Barney

Thats gonna be a bitch if what I hear of UV mapping is true...

Since I've never done it before and would probably do a terrible job of it... I'll match the current textures where I can.

Unless there's an easy way to UV map :P

It has a steep learning curve but once you get into it its actually not that hard at all, more time consuming than actually difficult.

I've got too much time, but I think I'll just match it with an upsized HD skin and copy+paste at similar sizes and see if it turns out decent. If it does imo I'll show you...UV-mapping can't be too bad

get yourself Ultimate Unwrap3D, it's perfect for what you want to do and quite easy to use
