Choppy lighting
« on: September 10, 2010, 10:49:12 AM »

I'm making a bit of a map have an unlit area but the problem I'm having is the lighting makes this "banding" effect, here's a screenshot to show you what I mean:

At first I thought it must be my quick and dirty RAD options, but I set it to -extra -bounce 8 -chop 32 -sparse -dscale 2 and it makes no difference :-\.

HL is definitley running in 32 bit colour mode.

Are you using the basic compiling tools or an updated zhlt, shlt, or somehting else.
Here are the best tools to use. Custom version of ZHLT by vluzacn.  These tools have solved all my problems and enabled me to do things not before possible.
