env_rain funnel effect
« on: September 25, 2010, 05:45:13 PM »

In Spirit of Half-Life (I'm sure the entity is similar in other mods) env_rain has a sort of "funneling" effect, I've made a screenie to show the problem

It's strange because when I set it to fall horizontally it goes in a straight line, it's only vertically that causes this effect. Anyone else had this problem or knows a solution?

I think there is an entity called env_funnel that is supposed to do exactly this, but I want vertically falling precipitation (also known as... rain :P).

Edit: Darn that link isn't working. When all else fails, imageshack is there to save the day.

Never mind, I figured it out. I had a look on the Spirit forums using archive.org and found out about the rain_settings and rain_modify entities. They work properly, only drawback is they're a little less configurable than env_rain. Ah well.
