[HL1] Miscellaneous Hack Thread
« on: March 24, 2011, 01:34:03 AM »

Anyway, I had a day of boredom today, decided to revamp a few things... and these three came out of it. I absolutely LOVED Corporal Dogmeat's version the HD shotbox, but the textures sucked. One day near this one I was playing Deathmatch Classic, and the shotbox textures on their shotbox was beautiful, so I had to have it on Corporal's HD shotbox! Then this came out of it.

Then on to the chainammo, HL-fan inspired me to revamp this model as he gave it SD textures, but no modeled-out bullets nor a modeled out original handle. :) So, I set onto this, and this came out of it.

And finally, Corporal Dogmeat's little hack of the .357 Speedloader. This model had many problems, yes. But, I came out triumphant by fixing all the errors and making the model even more awesome. I also removed the bullets by Wannabe, because they had many errors themselves. Replaced them with HDpack bullets, and made the speedloader all around more HD pack-like.

Hey Joebama, another nice work from you! ;)

The texture get's fucked up because it uses a resolution you can't to divide by 2.
95:2=47,5
Try to compile the w_chainammo with 128x96, or replace the "fucked up" texture in the Half Life Model Viewer.

Thanks for the feedback, Besli!  ;D

The original texture I gave it was divisible by 2 but for some reason the compiler still fucked it up, and infact made it's resolution smaller.  :(

Anyhow, hacked up a little .357 ammo box yet again, with 7 bullets (meant for Opposing Force). So, here you are.

I don't know who made the original model but I loved it, but it needed a lot of work to look really good. I scrapped the original skin because I'm gonna use this as a replacement for the terribly blocky couch prefabs, so I gave it the skin from the default halflife.wad. I think it looks very retro and cool. It'll fit perfectly in some of the old 50's styled areas.

Here you are:

Wow, that's a really great model! Also the idea to remake the prefab with a model, was fantastic!

The fixed smoothing version is better, yes.

Here are hires sofa textures, if you want to make a higher resolution skin:

GTA III is one of my favorite games of all time, and I couldn't help but notice that the flatbed truck had 3 different kinds, ribbed with cloth, plain ribs, and nothing. So, I absolutely HAD to do this for the PS2 Army Flatbed model. I hope you enjoy this as I will be!

Got tired of these so called "SD gibs" packs, so I decided to set onto this task myself, starting with the Human Grunt gibs. (These gibs are especially useful if you're a mapper.) Also added some new Military Crate gibs.

(Bloodied up texture edits by Urbanebula - sorry!)
