Third party mod wth? this is a pack of models and some textures, not another coded game... What makes it a thirdparty mod?

The fact that it modifies the existing game material is good enough for me ;)

Android is correct in that currently we are not changing any coding, and in most respects resemble a model pack more so then a "mod".

That however may be changing in the near future.  ;D

Warnings?  How on earth could that be considered against the rules?

Curious.

I always hated it when people signed their post. If I read your post, Ill know who said it so you dont have to put your name twice. But hey, a moderator doesnt like it, so I applaud him(though it might be for different reasons).

I just figured it would be nice and make people feel good as i don't like getting on peoples bad side and the net can be so... whats the word... un emotional... and vague.

People can choose to read it if they want to... its not exactly hard to ignore IMO.

Ahhh well... lets get back on topic shall we :)

Updated the FAQ with several small tidbits.

Additions address, HLDM:S, the Bonus Pack, the new "Submissions" board and the Pic / Vid thread among other things.

Um, hi, I'm new here.

Right, I downloaded the pack a while ago just to try it out (before Blue Shift came out on Steam). Turned out that I didn't like the HD models, and thus I have been wanting to uninstall it for a long time, but just can't figure out how.

Can anybody help? Thanks.

Are you talking about the alpha/beta version of the high definition pack for Half-Life Source? Or are you talking about the High Definition pack for normal Half-Life/Opposing Force? (I know there was a version on fileplanet before Blue Shift came out on Steam.)

Either way, all that should be needed is finding the folder named 'models' within that game's folder. And if any new sprites or sounds were installed, the 'sprites' and 'sound' folders as well.

Of course, if we are talking about normal HL rather than Half-Life Source, and you have lots of other custom models in there as well, that makes things more complicated. And if you are talking about that HD pack for normal half-life/opposing force from fileplanet, I think that might have come with an uninstaller, it might be in your start menu somewhere. Not sure about that though.

Understood.  As Your Evil Twin was explaining, first we must determine if you are using the original HL or HL:S.  Our pack only deals with HL:S; for it there is Valve's HD pack that originally came with Blue Shift and was re-released on Steam earlier this year... and then there is our pack.  You can find unistallation directions for the Steam version here

If you downloaded v.1 or the beta of v.2 of our pack, you can do the following to uninstall it:

Browse to the "C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life source\hl1" and delete the "Materials", "Models" and "Sounds" folders.   Keep in mind this will also delete any other additional models or skins you have installed.  The easiest solution is to simply reinstall what you still want.
