HLDM:S Update
« on: November 27, 2005, 10:51:35 PM »

In a recent HL2world.com interview with Doug Lombardi I found the following:

Quote
7. The next question was submitted by pcgamer58.
pcgamer58 asks:
How far along is HL1:DM Source currently?

[Doug Lombardi] It's close. Won't be this year, but should be out very
early in 2006.

Thought some of you might be interested.

Reminds me of people on the Forgotten Hope forums.

But yeah, hopefully it'll be out on New Years.  That'd kick ass.

Hey now, I have yet to get in on any of that butt kicking... and HL2DM is my game.

That's okay, you'll be kicking my butt when HLDM:S comes out.  I haven't played those maps in years, and trying to get used to using the tau/jump module again will take this old timer a while.

I'm still quitely obsessed with NS-Source.  As well as HLDM:S.  And Science and Industry 2.

Uh, what's this have to do with HLDM:S?

When I got HL:S I was disappointed because there was no multiplayer!
But I hope in HLDM:S they won't make that crossbow an instanthit sniper rifle again.,

They won't change the dynamics of the original game, they will just port it over to Source.  If it was in instant kill before, it will be now.

I'm looking forward to the MP5's grenade launcher.  It would hold 10 and you could rapid fire those mama's like a MAC10, lol!  I remeber a number of jump, spin, twitch kills with that weapon.  Yeah... those were the days.  ;D

Indeed.  I remember playing "Killbox" on low grav, softening somebody up with a nade and then finishing them off with the shottie.  :D  They'd fly across the map, it was hilarious!

The Tau turned Boot camp into a "small" map, and crossfire into a nightmare.  Though it allowed for some interesting rpg shots from outerspace, lol.

Datacore was the bomb... and it had lots of bombing in it.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it to... I just wish there were some bots I could brush up on first.

Ever heard of Parabot for HL1?  It's really hard to come by with nowadays and it's a cancelled project, but the end result is a bot that learns levels and tactics so no waypointing is required.

I know it's not going to happen, but I wish they would disable the Gauss in multiplayer =/ It's so infuriating with idiots gauss-jumping around everywhere, madly shooting everything they see and gaining easy kills over and over and over and over and over and over again....
