This'd better not be considered "dead."

Attention, local small-time assassins, looking for a cheaply manufactured device that can easily be used with your "home-made" poison?  Look no further!

It's the ASPP-06l! (Alka-Seltzer Pressurized Pistol)

That's right, this handweapon runs on canisters of crushed alka-seltzer to power a sabot round that can be fitted with poison, napalm, whipped cream, or a simple bladed tip.

Based off of simple children's dart pistols, the ASPP-06 is fitted for recreational activities to military applications.  The sabot's tip can be screwed off to house any chemical needed, or even a rubber tip, or an armour-piercing blade.

Operation

The ASPP-06 is a single-shot special purpose handgun designed to fire from Alka-Seltzer and water.  A special insulated canister holds very hot water, and is loaded at the top-left side of the handgun.  A canister containing crushed Alka-Seltzer is loaded at the rear.  The shooter depresses the trigger, releasing a small amount of the water into the pressurization chamber, and at the same time, releases the alka-seltzer into the chamber (in some models, the canister is used as the pressurization chamber) and the mixture quickly pressurizes.  A door seperating the barrel from the chamber is released by the mixture at the most efficient point in the mixture (sometimes the sabot round is used as the door, locked in place until the strongest point of pressurization is reached, but this is being developed on) and the dart is sent out the barrel to its target.

The frame is made of stamped steel.  Trigger is of DOA type.  To reload, the barrel is opened towards the left side, and a new sabot is loaded.  Every few shots, it is recommended to clear the barrel of residue.  The prototype features no "ejection port" for the mixture.  The remaining mixture is released out the barrel after the sabot is discharged.

Projected range is estimated at about 200 feet effective.  Calibre of sabot would most likely be 4.5x40mm, or something in that range.

Post Scriptum:  This was an actual idea of yours truly.  I am currently searching for a local gunsmith in which I can exert this idea and see just how retarded it is.

Two weeks maximum.
Edit: Oops. Got months and weeks mixed up. That's what happens when I don't sleep.
