HL: Source technical issue
« on: January 24, 2006, 01:27:26 AM »

For some odd reasons, upon loading a map, the dynamic soft shadows will appear under the model spontaneously, but only upon restarting the map, but sometimes that doesn't help.... and shadows are set to high detail. I've got a Pentium 4b Northwood 2.66 GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 128MB DDR ATi Radeon 9500 Pro, and all the latest drivers. Anyone have any idea what's wrong? Is this issue normal?

I have run into a few instances where shadows seemed to disappear on some maps and reappear on others.  I don't know what causes it, but I have been told that they don't actually disappear, they just become so light it is hard to see them.  I went back and looked again and found it to be true.

I'm not sure if this is what you are experiencing or not, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.
