Cute houndeye ;D. The skin looks amazingly detailed (at least the original map), I gotta find a tut on making such nice organic textures.

In the WIP thread, I commented on how awesome it looked, and it came out even better. The four leg thing worked out well; I'm glad that you decided to keep it. Animations could use work, and I'm hoping someone will jump on that, but everything else is absolutely fantastic, Sproily. Oh, and Minuit? Thanks for compiling and making it possible to use this in HL. =D

PS. Perhaps I should learn how to animate. >.>

Except for the blue veins and the eyes the skin looks like it's made entirely out of a photoshop filter, and it's very blurry and pixellated. The veins dont look at all like they are under it's skin, or even like veins at all. It's more like someone dropped a box of uncapped magic markers on it. The eyes are the default ones I guess, which seems kind of pointless given that the rest of the skin was redone. Compared to that it's just petty of me to point out that the eyes are cut off on the left.

The mesh itself seems very undefined, which is surprising given the polycount. Also, the mesh deformations are not at all difficult to see even when trying to avoid looking at them, they're really bad and present in almost every animation.

And on a sidenote, what was with the middle 2 pictures? Those look more like photoshopped concept art than a render.

The whole model was done from scratch, so was the texture, nothing was taken from the original, I didnt even use the original model as a reference ;D (hence 4 legs), and yes ofcourse i used a series of photoshop filters to create the base texture, 99% of the people who texture stuff do that, the veins pumping out would be of the normal map that I applied over the texture, to me the texture doesnt realy look blurry or pixelated at all. the middle two pictures were beauty renders of the model.

It's not blurry at all. Some people to need to learn that ten 512*512 maps is not definately a good thing. There are so many so-called "SD" models that do this, and guess what? They look insanely ugly, why? Because goldsource does not have mipmapping, so when you cram in numerous 512*512 maps on the model, it causes an insane amount of texture aliasing. Ewwie!

But sproily knows this, I'm glad he used one 512*256 map, and it looks beautiful.

Looks very detailed. If HL2 had hound-eyes maybe they would look something like this.

Aww it looks like a puppy with how chubby the skin makes it look, the four legs look cool too.

This really looks awesome, but I personally would have preferred three legs. For one thing, when this 4-legged houndeye walks its two back legs don't even move independently anyway, they both hop forwards, just the same as if it had 3 legs.

The detail on this model - both the model itself and the texture - is incredible. If it had three legs I'd forever make it my permanent houndeye replacement. But for me 4 legs on the houndeye is like giving the alien slaves or alien grunts the wrong number of arms; though it may be a fun and cool looking replacement, I would always be concious that it was unfaithful to the original, if you see what I mean.

But it is also cool to see a bit of originality. I'm a stickler for things looking like enhanced versions of the original, but I'm sure plenty of others are not bothered about number of legs.
