Internet Explorer only internet-enabled software (FIXED)
« on: June 02, 2007, 10:49:24 PM »

Yes, I know the thread title isn't very clear. Basically, my problem is Internet Explorer is the only program I can connect to the Internet with. I can't use Mozilla Firefox or Steam. I recently got a new computer and both Steam and Firefox were working until I restarted my computer today. I haven't changed any settings or anything like that. Can anyone help me?

Edit: I fixed this by turning off Zone Alarm.

Keyword Windows Firewall or any other firewalls. Are these activated and might block programs like Steam or Firefox?

There aren't any firewalls on, no. It's weird, seeing as this surely shouldn't actually be possible for only one thing to be able to access the internet.

Could be your firewall as Red Slug said, or a router if you use one

Well it is possible, depending on your firewall and router settings

I just fixed it. It was Zone Alarm. I only checked Windows Firewall. I just turned it off. Thanks Red Slug and Matt for the help.
