Portal Mapping
« on: October 12, 2007, 05:10:49 PM »

First off, allow me to present you with my first portal map, Turtles. It's a proof of concept map. It also includes an FGD. Map is over when you reach the cake.

http://www.ragnarokarena.com/Turtles.rar

After this we have a fullbright turretothon, http://compactaim.de/downloads/index...=download&id=2 . It's short. Very short. One room short. But good luck seeing the forcefields.

After this short map, we have Portal Playground, made by a HL2World member, J_c. http://www.hl2world.com/bbs/rel-port...d-vt48478.html There is no goal. It's a playground. I recommend making a line of turret defense and typing npc_create npc_zombie in the console many times.

Now, you have an FGD. You have a thread. I want links and I want posts of awesome Portal maps, damn it! Do it now!

First you need pics, and then there will be clicks! XD

Nah, downloading them anyways.  I'll probably make a couple maps of my own, since a good puzzle is what I've been wanting to make for ages.

since I don't have Portal I don't really care, but some pics would certainly be nice to have anyways, since mapping gives me erections

My lame map, tried to follow the lighting style of Portal, kinda failed though.

Gotta move the Observation room a bit over also.

How did you get the elevator lit and frost the glass correctly?

Portals are always fun.

This glass is eluding me. Can you post your func_brush info or whatever?

Portal needs more "every-day" maps, such as a hospital or whatever, for extreme awesomeness. =D

I was hoping to do some stuff for Portal, but I don't want to extract every stuff from *.gcf files. I'll just wait for the official Source SDK update.
