Bad lighting...
« on: March 09, 2008, 03:36:17 PM »

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you could help me out with Lighting.
I'm using a lot of high res textures in game, scaled to about 0.50 by 0.50, which has meant I've needed to raise the Chop on RAD compile to 70, in some cases 80 or 100.  This hadn't been a problem, lighting actually looked OK.  Until I started compiling yesterday - maps which I had previously compiled perfectly OK are now compiling with really bad lighting... I don't understand why

Some of the HOE maps I'm working on have several Light_Environment entities, I'm pretty sure you only need one.  Could these be culprits?
Also does anyone know of a way to keep Chop low without exceeding Max_Patches ?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Nevermind, I discovered if I add -sparse to my RAD compile process, it works fine
