well it's a random map generator, not a bloody AI map creator, of course it's going to look ugly. The GOOD thing about it is ita good bade to work out level topography. You go over with the detail brush after.

With a little work, the maps could look okay. For instance, in the picture with the houndeyes, you could add some support cables to the catwalks, tone down the lights so that they're dimmer (and maybe red, seeing as the area looks like some sort of maintenance area) and add some actual physical light brushes, change the ceiling texture (it looks weird), add some pipes along the walls and ceilings and you'd have an acceptable room. Maybe some pillars, too.

I see the author of this wants the following things in a later release
Quote
future
These are things that I am planning for future versions:

Multiple floors?
Elevators?
Trains?
Uneven terrain?

This would be awesome.

I just use it to make random levels for me to play when I'm bored. It keeps me busy and it's mildly entertaining, so it's a good program in my books.

Send it to Valve, so they can do random maps for EP3.
Fuck those awesome concepts,EP3 is gonna be a boxy corridor with 50 Advisors in a clusterfuck of combine soldiers.
Game of the year imo.

I think I heard/read Valve decided that the three Episodes actually ARE Half-life 3 .

No, they aren't.

Backing up opinions is good for you! Unless you're a living god to be believed without question.

Anyway, no, Valve said that since the episodes are a direct continuation of Freeman's adventures, Half-Life 3 would probably be a better name for them; they also said in many interviews that the Half-Life franchise won't end with the episodes, try searching PlanetHalfLife archives from around the time Ep1 came out. Besides, if they were infact HL3, they'd be named Half-Life 3 Ep1,2,3 and not HL2 Ep1,2,3.

Hmm this looks like a pretty good tool actually, could be a real time saver ;D

Seriously though you could probably get a good basic layout done with this, and then add details in Hammer.
