Random map crashes
« on: November 12, 2008, 10:23:43 PM »

I keep on getting random map crashes from time to time, without any explanation from the HL engine.  Could these crashes be caused by having too many models with too many polies?

I know the HL engine is a fragile thing, and this has happened in the past.  It would just be good to get some fix on this.

Find your steam (crash/error/etc.) dump files in your Half-Life folder, and give them to some coder guy you know.

Hohum.  Yet another limitation of the HL1 engine.  Well I guess I can break up some maps into smaller separate BSPs.

Thanks for your comments guys, they reinforce what I suspected.
