.OBJ file problem.
« on: November 20, 2008, 04:29:24 PM »

I just extracted the .OGF file from STALKER SoC gamedata and converted it to .OBJ using OFG model viewer but when I open the OBJ file with MS3D it doesn't show up. Can anyone help me here please?

Can you send the file ?
Maybe the model is too small or to big to be seen, or just not in a good place. See if there is something with the model statistics in the tool menu

Sorry bloodsurfer, I've already deleted the file.

When I imported the duty guy model with the mask, it's like the model is messed up and he doesn't have any textures on.

EDIT: Is there a way to just convert an OGF file to an SMD?

EDIT2: Never mind I've found an OGF to SMD converter in FPSB but when I import the SMD there aren't any textures on the model. :(

textures are stored in the (surprise surprise) textures folder, not meshes.

I've tried putting the .dds texture on with MS3D but the model is still plain, no textures on.

Thanks Nige, I've been searching for a good image converter.

I've rigged the gasmask spetz on the LD Hgrunt bones (I think it's LD...) but can't compile and test it because of the dds.

EDIT: Ok... Now it wont compile somehow even though I already converted the image to bmp, MS3D just crashes.

Here are the files, can someone tell me what I did wrong with the textures please?

I already resized the 512x1024 bmp of the soldier's body to 256x512.

(No weapon smds yet.)

Thanks in advance.

Guess who forgot to put his textures in 256 colors indexed mode ?  ::)
A small tip as well try to split the body texture in multiples textures to save quality

Yeah, I've deleted the head (Head model only not the bone.) from the body and made another smd for the head because there were too many verticles.

I've tried reassigning the head again (gasmask_soldier_head.smd) but I still get the error.

Lol nah, I didn't do that. I always uncheck Rename Bone thing.

EDIT: I guess I'll have to re-rig it, it might work.
