[56k Warning] The "Too much time?" Thread 2
« on: November 27, 2008, 08:35:55 PM »

This thread is for posting products that you create in your spare time, and decide to present to your fellow forum mates. Your "products" can be anything from outside projects (school art or something) to content that you may or may not release.

Quote from: toadie
1) There are two kinds of posts allowed here, production posts and discussion posts. Production posts are to follow the following rules:
- the preferred content type is half-life/source related material, though other stuff can be posted if you really want to. Pictures of maps, models, 2d art, animations are all acceptable.
- no Intellectual Property theft. you are not allowed to post other people's work, let alone claim it as your own. If someone calls you on it, prepare to back yourself up with proof of ownership.
- it has to be of a quality that can be critiqued ( ie, no stick figure illustrations representing concepts, mostly complete (no undiscernable scribble and such))
- has to follow forum guidelines
- Include information about it: What it is, what it's for, whether it's going to be released here or wherever or whatever, tools used, etc..
Discussion Posts are for the complimenting and critiquing of production posts. There is to be no spamming, no ego-tripping, no flaming, brawling, or mishbehaviour of the any variety. Especially no circle jerking.

My original plan was to unlock the other thread after a few days, and see if you would learn anything from it. (Some people didn't, I got enough PM's and IM messages about it) But Matt suggested that we'd start a new thread instead.

I'll start this off with a UT2004 mod I've been modifying in my free time. :)
I've been working lately on importing a Barrett .50 cal into Unreal Tournament 2004. I did the code, worked on the skin, and got it ingame on the shown origins.

The origins look a bit off though, anyone have any suggestions on improvement?

Well I will dive in the pool on second place then,

I'm having fun coding with HL SDK, I'm trying to make a monster that will be able to target two enemy at the same time using two different gun (here the two miniguns).

The thing is to have 3 entities, one for the main monster and one for each gun, the main problem is to make all those entities communicate together, to avoid the gun aiming at the same enemy for example

Bring the gun back towards you, and make it a bit more straight.

It looks pretty awkward. The scope kinda looks like it's going right, while the gun is facing left. Could just be my horrible vision though.

Made a custom texture for HL2. Anyone recognize it? It's a remake.

I dunno, but the decompiling is kinda sketchy sometimes, you have to decompile it into nightfire .smds AND hl .smds, using the HL refs and t he nightfire anims, else the anims are broken.

They aren't broken. They use vertex weights, which is something not supported by HL.
