Not my style, but not bad. Doesn't quite look smooth enough, I think, and the background gradient doesn't look too good. Can't explain it, but I wouldn't use a gradient. Or, at least, one that bright.

Nice m14, LD...but daaamn is that a veiny arm.  Like the style, tho. Lookin good.
Default anims? :P

Yupyup~ the problem with the gradient is it's a recolor of a darker blue. I wouldn't want it as bright either but this way it matches the hue of BS's hud more. I actually have everything done on the project [as far as coding goes] I think, just need to wait for BS:U source code release+mix in+compile. Well, then ripent comes into play :P hopefully I can find a good balance to keep the atmosphere of Blue Shift.

HoE M21, resmoothed and rigg'd up onto the CS1.6 default SG550 anims. Good guess, Leeroy. Click the pic, it's a link to the DL.

Rename it to v_sg550 and drop into your counterstrike/models folder. And you'll probably want some better sounds, the 1.6 defaults are pretty nasty tbh. At least the 550 ones are.



Enjoy. No it's not an AWP, despite the fact it looks a great deal like one with a silencer and some RIS rails.

Doing HUD sprites for my custom weapon set in Half-Life. How's the yellow? I'm trying to find a suitable gradient to use as a background. It doesn't look too bad in-game I don't think, with some tweaks it kind of fits in with DD's sprites. Just don't play with bloom...looks like ass cuz it's so damn shiny. Needs less shiny.

Anywho, I'm going with a simple-ISH style here. Should I add words? Light scan lines (not OF style)? I don't know if I should keep it simple or make the HEV suit look super-crazy-hi-tech..

on the BS sprite... yeah, I was making those on a PC with onboard graphics...this comp (my main working comp) has my nicer card. I maxed out AA and AF, and after looking at stuff in HLMV, there's a difference, it looks quite a bit better.

Not much of a fan of that style in general.

Personally, I'd just do the outline of the weapon itself, drawn in MS Paint. Want me to whip up a quick example for ya?

Sure, with an example to work from I could make a cleaner weapon set... so this style is similar to the veins of HL2 to an extent?

E: planning to add a more "fading out" effect on the selected HUD icon, for dramatic effect :D

May want to add the weapon name to the other side of the icon. Or some various information. Caliber? Magcap? Something like that.

Either way, I approve very much. It's also simpler, so you can make them faster.

Glad you like it :D I like this style. It takes a little longer cuz it's all by hand but definitely worth it.
I was thinking, along with the weapon name, maybe add clip/bullet silhouette + name? Any font recommendations or would by hand basic stuff work, ya think? I'm gonna try the d.i.y. way first.

EDIT: did some scanline testing, LD style o' course  ;D How's it look? Too dark? Too light? Note this is for HL not OF

EDIT2: added lighter scanline example. What do you like better?
