Damnit it has to work. Maybe you could send me your sound replacement.txt and I try it myself. If it still does not work something is wrong.  :-\

Well I tested it now and it worked. Seems like you made everything right. I did not change anything.

I had the .txt and all the sounds in svencoop/sound/liquidator folder.

Then I gave barney the sound replacement ../liquidator/kate.txt

And it worked. For testing purposes you can give barney a use/un-use sentence. For example write in there !BA_OK0.

The reason why it may seem it does not work is that you have like 5% of barneys sentences replaced and the rest of the sounds are still default. So he says only those sentences in kate voice that you replaced.

So I guess yeah if you want him to be fully voiced as kate you would have to replace every sentence which is a lot of work. ;)

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but alll the times I tested I thought maybe I'd get one of the mp3's pop up haha.

Ah well, damn.
Thanks for the support : )

Here's some shots of the map it's going in, if youd like to check em out.

Yeah I believe I saw the screenshots before somewhere. Looks promising. And it has a very unique style, and now that in svencoop 4.0 most old maps don't really work anymore we definately need some new ones  :)

Heh, thanks.

One last question, is it possible to make a barney/scientist or whatever say a line using a trigger once or such; atm I'm just using ambient generics.

I know you can trigger a scripted_sentence in svencoop to let them talk.

Svencoop has a function where you can place a + in front of the path to a sound file under "Sentence Name" and then the npc speaks a custom .wav file which is automatically precached.

But don't ask how exactly it works with scripted_sentences because I never used them before, guess you have to look for a tutorial or experiment around.  ;)
