Plasma Beta Alpha Release
« on: December 29, 2008, 01:51:53 PM »

Oh hai guys and gals,

I've just came here to inform y'all that my mod: Plasma, has made it into a first release!  :)
Of course, this is my Xmas gift to you all, and everybody else. LoL, I meant to release it DAYS ago, but since my internet sucks prunes and since the mod is enormous, the upload killed itself many times..  :o (lol)

Just for fun, I thought to show some images of the mod's gameplay.

Well, if you're looking forward to play it, here's the link  ::) -> http://www.moddb.com/mods/plasma
I hope this life wasting addictive mod was worth it!   ;D (lolololol)

see ya!

Q: ZOMFG! HL2 CONTENT!!! D:
A: Okay... so? Most are just placeholders for now.
Yeah, even though the mod team seems ok with it, it's not really allowed here..

It's more of an announcement then a release and I doubt he could get in to trouble for announcing his mod went into beta. The person who announced that PARANOIA was released didn't take any heat.

This looks like just another deathmatch mod with weapons used from other peoples work.
Looks like it might also be team deathmatch with npcs.
The video on ModDb seems to further prove that statement.
Looks like you got..
Paranoia zombies
AOM Textures?
Sven Coop Toon Run Grunts
Rimrooks Crossbow.

So, Mr Cold Fusion, you say a mod can't be a mod unless it creates it own content from scratch ?

btw, it's not only deathmatch, its also co op and singleplayer

Nice boss monster

Also Rimrook is the one that is working on me with Cold Fusion and taught me basic modeling with 3DSMax.
Sense you probably don't  know Rimrook is also the person that CREATED those coldfusion models.

You know, I have a feeling that you've never heard the saying: "Never judge a book by its cover"
Before you go around and say that every mod that uses others content is nothing but a piece of crap, ACTUALLY play the mod. Also, read the details of the mod too, don't just look at it and assume its this or that.
What I'm trying to say is that making a mod is a VERY hard process, and it takes lots of time and concentration. Of course there will be the odd 'bully' (lol) out there that will try to hurt the mod for others and for the mod creators, and there's never anything you can do about those. But there's also people who think before doing stupid things like that, and they're usually the people who are successful.

Nice boss monster

LOLOLOLOLOOLOL, this mod contains quite insane stuff indeed.. I'd have to admit.. XD
but those aren't the craziest things to point out.. :o

but those are from a humourous addon to come and a coop map series called LOL so they uhh.. *supposed* to look like that.. :o

Anyway... err yeah..  :P

LOL, err, I've put together a few sounds and such.. but I'm not too good at doing models from scratch though, I'm better at putting pieces and parts together..and poof, there's some non-original work. I get others to do the models from scratch work  :-\
I can make maps from scratch BTW.. but the textures are another story XD
Most of the models in Plasma (that others made) have actually been modified by me O.o

Hehe.. so since when is this the ONE mod out of many others that use a small portion of hl2 content?  :D

The only mods I know of doing it are Paranoia, Arrangement and this.  It shouldn't be done.

If you're going to use HL2 content, why not just save yourself the trouble of porting content from HL2 and just develop your mod in the Source engine??

It looks like there are some interesting effects in the mod, but I really have no idea what on earth the mod is about given that the description provided is pretty much "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL".

Yus.. a bit too many LoL's I suppose...  ::)
Many mods for HL1 nowadays are using HL2 models and such.. I suppose it IS VERY VERY NAUGHTY indeed..
At least my mod only uses a couple models and maybe a few sounds as well, unlike the fact that AM uses EVERY STINKIN prop from HL2.. :o (not sure if Valve is too happy about that)
PS: Did Valve themselves say that it was illegal to port from HL2 to HL1, or was it just some n00b making up fairy tales?  :-\
