Steam problem after update?
« on: January 15, 2009, 12:37:07 PM »

My Steam just updated itself and I clicked Restart Steam then it closes at Connecting Steam Account: <my account name> then closes itself without any error message.

Now, I've reinstalled Steam but when I click my Steam shortcut on the desktop Steam wont even start up.

I'm doing a virus scan at the moment, maybe it's a virus or something. Anyone here got this problem?

It's you, you're the steam problem.

But on a more serious note, all good over here. Most likely your update fucked up while it was downloading or something similar. Tried deleting the clientregistry.blob in the steam folder?

Yeah, I've already tried that. Thanks anyways.

EDIT I checked the Task Manager and when I start Steam the memory usage spikes from 2-5 thousand to 48-50 thousand then steam.exe closes.

EDIT2 Problem solved, I had to update my OS lol. I didn't turn Auto Update on because it's annoying.

Yeah... I fail.
