The grip notches on the slide are wrong too for a standard 1911.

Nothing in nature is perfectly straight. Give it a few more imperfections, bulges, indents, etc.
Also, why a US flag on the grip? Sure, it's for US army, but generally manufacturers don't put that kinda stuff on weapons. Altho I suppose some super patriotic grunt might stick a sticker on his gun.... but siiince you find it in the bed of a truck, I don't think it'd make sense.
If you want a logo, I'd either go with the infamous US army black circle/star, or something new. Altho, again, since you find it in a crate, it should be pristine, right?
